Soap Battle Guide

Soap Battle is Jelly Bubble’s flagship team mode — a red-versus-blue brawl where soap is simultaneously ammunition, healing, and the currency that unlocks your team’s ultimate weapon. If you have played free-for-all scoring modes, Soap Battle feels familiar at first: grab soap, grow stronger, and fight for map control. The difference is that every pickup and every steal now feeds a shared team pool, and one player on each side carries the weight of leadership.

This guide breaks down roles, the leader’s 30 HP rule, how soap doubles as ammo and health, and the bombardment cannon that ends matches at 500 team points. Pair it with the Soap Tier List for loadout planning and Game Modes for how Soap Battle fits alongside other lobbies.

How Soap Battle works

Two teams — Red and Blue — spawn on opposite sides of the arena. Individual score still matters for personal stats and achievements, but the win condition is team points. Every soap piece your squad banks adds to a shared meter visible at the top of the HUD. The first team to 500 points activates the bombardment cannon, a map-wide finisher that rains heavy soap blasts on the losing side’s half of the arena.

Matches typically run eight to twelve minutes depending on map size and player count. Online lobbies support up to six players (three per team when full). Local split-screen runs two to four players, which often means 1v1 or 2v2 Soap Battle skirmishes with faster pacing.

The leader role and 30 HP

Each team designates a leader at match start. By default this is the host’s pick or the highest-level player in the lobby, but most groups rotate the role every round for fairness. The leader is not a passive flag carrier — they anchor midline control, call color switches, and decide when to burn soap for offense versus saving it for the cannon push.

Leaders spawn with exactly 30 HP — lower than standard brawlers — and do not regenerate health passively. Every point of damage sticks until you actively recover. That fragility forces the rest of the squad to peel enemies, body-block repel bounces, and feed the leader healing soap before a focused burst KO.

If the leader is eliminated, the team suffers a 10-second respawn penalty on the shared point meter and loses 50 banked team points (minimum floor zero). Protecting the leader is often more valuable than chasing a third-place scavenger on the enemy team.

Soap as ammo and health

In Soap Battle, soap pickups behave differently from classic score rush:

  • Ammo soap fills your throwable stock. Fired soap uses the same special effect as the type you collected — blast, swap, steal, or defensive variants from the Soap Reference table.
  • Health soap restores HP on use. Leaders gain 2 HP per health soap; teammates gain 5 HP to keep standard brawlers durable.
  • Banked soap is delivered to your team’s deposit zone (marked with your team color). Banked pieces add 10 team points each and charge personal abilities faster.

You can hold a maximum of four ammo soap and two health soap at once. Overflow drops at your feet, which creates intentional griefing opportunities — experienced players knock leaders into their own dropped health to force awkward pickups mid-fight.

Stealing works the same as core Jelly Bubble: match colors to absorb an enemy’s carried soap, mismatch to repel them off platforms. In team play, coordinate color calls over voice chat. A common opener is one teammate flipping green to attract, then the second player flipping red to repel the clustered enemy into a hazard.

Reaching 500 points and the bombardment cannon

Team points come from three sources:

  1. Banking soap at your deposit zone (+10 each)
  2. Leader survival milestones (+25 every two minutes the leader stays above 10 HP)
  3. Eliminations (+5 per KO, +15 if the victim was carrying three or more soap)

At 500 points, the bombardment cannon fires automatically. Cutscenes are skipped in ranked-style lobbies, but the telegraph is unmistakable: a siren, a rising cannon platform at your base, and a three-second charge window where the leading team can reposition for style points.

The cannon delivers five volleys across the enemy half. Each volley deals 20 damage in a wide splash and strips one carried soap from anyone caught without cover. Leaders rarely survive a full barrage without pre-placed defensive soap — treat the cannon moment as the true win screen and reset for the next round.

If both teams sit above 450 points, the late game becomes a race to deny deposits. Steal banking routes, camp enemy deposit zones with repel traps, and save blast soap for the final cannon charge window.

Team strategies that win

Balanced trio (online 3v3): One leader anchor, one deposit runner who loops the map edges for high-value soap spawns, one harasser running steal-heavy loadouts from the Soap Tier List to pick off enemy bankers.

2v2 local: Pick a durable non-leader brawler as pseudo-tank while the leader plays behind a defensive soap wall. Focus on milestone bonus points — two minutes of leader survival twice per match equals a free 50 points.

Comeback play: If you are down 120+ points after a leader wipe, stop banking until you secure two health soap for the respawned leader. A second wipe before 400 points usually snowballs into a cannon loss.

Common mistakes

  • Banking soap while the leader is below 5 HP instead of feeding health first
  • Chasing eliminations on the far side of the map while enemies triple-bank at your deposit
  • Burning blast soap for style when swap soap would guarantee a stolen health pickup
  • Ignoring color callouts — silent teams lose steal windows and friendly repel accidents spike
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many team points do you need to fire the bombardment cannon?

The first team to reach 500 shared points triggers the bombardment cannon automatically. Those points come from banking soap, leader survival milestones, and eliminations.

Why does the leader only have 30 HP?

The leader role is intentionally fragile to create a protect-the-captain dynamic. Leaders do not passively regenerate, so teammates must deliver health soap and peel damage during pushes.

Can soap heal and damage in the same match?

Yes. Health soap restores HP when used on yourself or allies. Ammo soap is thrown for special effects like blast or swap. Banked soap at your deposit zone feeds team points instead.

What happens if the leader dies?

The team loses 50 banked points (down to zero), waits an extra 10 seconds on respawn timing, and must re-establish deposit routes before pushing for 500 again.

Is Soap Battle available in local split-screen?

Yes. Local play supports 2–4 players in Soap Battle, often as 1v1 or 2v2 matches with the same leader, soap, and 500-point cannon rules as online.
